How to manage pending ETH (Ethereum) transfer orders
There are times when you transfer ETH from a personal wallet like Trust Wallet or Metamask but have a pending order due to low gas costs or during a gas war on the Uniswap exchange which requires your order to be very fast. for immediate order fulfillment. Sometimes you get frustrated when you don’t know how long to wait for the Ethereum network to confirm transactions for you. Therefore, everything you come across will be discussed in this article.
Note that in this tutorial I will be using Trust Wallet as an example. Other wallets will be similar in this done.
Suppose I have a case of pending ETH transfer like this and continue to transfer ETH but everything is pending.
That means I have 3 pending transactions, run the same command to transfer 400 UNI.
In this case I need to verify the hash of this pending transaction on Etherscan.io. Then get the nonce code for the transaction.
The nonce is the transaction number of the return address. That is, each transaction from the outgoing address is counted from 0 for the first transaction.
My 3 transactions count the nonce as 228, 229, 230. Where the nonce number of the oldest transaction is 228 and I need to cancel this order.
To get started, you need to transfer 0 ETH from your own wallet to your own wallet address, with the old transaction nonce and higher gas fees than the old transaction. Here is an illustrative example:
After that, DO NOT click SUBMIT but click on the gear area to change the nonce number of this transaction to be the same as the nonce number of the transaction you want to cancel.
Reset the nonce number (TRANSACTION CODE) and gas costs, then click REWARD.
Then send this transaction and finally your pending ETH transfer will be deleted.
The old part of the transaction will be reversed and ETH will be returned to you.
BONUS: If you use Metamask and want to push ETH orders or adjust nonce amount, you can refer here.
Step 1: Go to your account in the top right corner of the MetaMask extension and click on Settings.
Step 2: Click Advanced in Settings. Next, find the setting that says “Match transactions at least once” and set it to “ON”.
Step 3: Now you can make transactions as usual (for example if you want to send transactions yourself at 0 ETH) and you will see a new field called “Custom Nonce”. It will appear on the confirmation screen when trying to submit a transaction.
Good luck with the 2 options above.
